The Black Keys have teamed up with some of the biggest names in hip-hop to record an album as Blakroc.

The project sees the blues duo playing backing band to vocal contributions from Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Ludacris, Jim Jones Pharoahe Monch, NOE, Nicole Wray, Billy Danze of M.O.P. and the world’s second most prolific dead rapper, the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Preceded by the single Hoochie Coo featuring Mos Def and Jim Jones, the eleven track album is due out the day after Thanksgiving: Black Friday.

The pair are no strangers to hip-hop or extra curricular work. They recruited Danger Mouse to produce their most recent record, Attack & Release, and both touring with their side projects – drummer Patrick Carney with his appropriately named Drummer and singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach with his self-titled solo project.
