TV On The Radio take hiatus

Don’t hold your breath for a return visit from Big Day Out saviours TV On The Radio any time soon. Touring tirelessly since the release of Dear Science, the Brooklyn band has announced a much-needed break.

Mouthpiece Tunde Adebimpe spoke to MTV News after a rousing showing at San Francisco’s Outside Lands festival. “This was the last show for us for a while,” he revealed. “We’ve decided to take, well, the going theory is to take about a year off, because you have to go and live a life and change things up.”

Despite TVOTR going into hibernation, its members won’t be sitting idle. Bushy-bearded right hand man Kyp Malone is developing his Rain Machine solo project, which is sure to be one to watch.

Adebimpe has of course guested on Massive Attack’s forthcoming EP Splitting The Atom, lending his mesmeric vocals to Pray For Rain. The song has surfaced this week and it’s certainly an exciting return from the Bristol pioneers. Have a listen below.
