Gorillaz recruit Horrors

Despite the maelstrom of hype around Blur’s reunion, main man Damon Albarn hasn’t forgotten about his other band. A new Gorillaz album is due some time in 2010 and the guestlist has already begun to take shape.
In an interview with BBC 6Music, Rhys Webb of British miscreants the Horrors revealed they’ll be lending a hand. Apparently Albarn was taken with the band’s new album Primary Colours (just like FasterLouder’s reviewer, in fact) and personally pursued them.
“He got a copy of it really early, contacted us completely out of the blue and told us how much he liked it,” Webb told BBC. “We went down to the studio and he said, – œWe’re working on the new album and we’ve not collaborated with a guitar band before and your album is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in a long time. Would you be up for working on a track?’”
