2009’s most intriguing ‘supergroup’ that isn’t Them Crooked Vultures has offered up its first single. Comprised of New Order veterans and a largely unknown vocalist Jake Evans, Bad Lieutenant will give away Sink Or Swim as a free download.

It’s a taster of what’s to come on the band’s debut LP, Never Cry Another Tear, due out digitally in early October. As previously reported, the album features contributions from Blur’s Alex James.

Those eager to hear what Evans delivers will have to wait a little while longer, though, as Sumner handles vocals on Sink Or Swim. Breezy and accessible, the song encapsulates the – œmodern guitar pop’ feel Sumner has cited. Download Sink Or Swim on the Bad Lieutenant website.
