On hiatus since 2008, Boston cabaret punks Dresden Dolls are planning a comeback soon. Ahead of her European tour, lead chanteuse Amanda Palmer told Life Music Media, “We are planning dates for 2010. We miss playing with each other.”

In the time since going their separate ways, the pair has found success in other guises. Palmer released an acclaimed solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer?, which has sustained a couple of theatrical visits down under.

Meanwhile, Brian Vigilione stays busy as part of the World/Inferno Friendship Society orchestra. He was also hired behind the kit on Nine Inch Nails’ Ghost I-V and the solo album from Franz Nicolay of the Hold Steady. The last Dresden Dolls release was Yes, Virginia in 2006.
