Responding to an article in the LA Weekly that painted him as a paranoid cocaine addict, Marilyn Manson has delivered an open threat to music journalists.
The article in question saw rock writer Travis Keller – the founder of Buddyhead.com – recalling a meeting with Manson in 2007. Keller claimed the shock rocker’s first words to him were requesting cocaine, while his then-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood was nicknamed – œSnowflake’ because “when they played shows, she’d hold all the coke.”
The not-paranoid, not-cocaine-addicted star has issued a fiery rant in reply. On his MySpace blog, Manson wrote: “If one more ‘journalist’ makes a cavalier statement about me and my band, I will personally or with my fans help, greet them at their home and discover just how much they believe in their freedom of speech,” he explained. “I dare you all to write one more thing that you won’t say to my face. Because I will make you say it. In that manner. That is a threat.”
The Marilyn Manson band is of course due back in Australia this October, with some shows already sold out. FasterLouder spoke to the man himself last week, so look out for the interview soon. We can’t promise cavalier statements.
