Weezer reissuing 'Pinkerton'
Wed 22nd Jul, 2009 in International News
Snuggie ambassadors Weezer have delivered a wide-ranging update to fans, promising shows, a seventh album, Pinkerton in deluxe version and “more good things”.
As we reported in June, the band has been working on a “nice pile of songs” in Malibu and West L.A. which will go towards The Red Album’s follow-up. In this week’s blog post, Weezer announce the next album (colour as yet unknown) is “pretty close to a wrap now.” A lead single and video is expected soon.
While they’re ushering in the new, the guys are also going back to 1996 classic Pinkerton to give it a redux. Details are somewhat scant, so in the meantime you’ll have to content yourself with this live video – œmash-up’ of Weezer playing MGMT’s Kids and Lady Gaga’s Pokerface. After covering both songs throughout their US circuit, the band made this little number themselves.
