In news that has galloped through the series of tubes we call the internet, The Strokes main man Julian Casablancas has a solo album on the way. The singer has been been hard at work on the eight-track LP, which is set to be called Phrazes for the Young.

While The Strokes are apparently recording together again, it seems Casablancas couldn’t resist going out alone. After all, his bandmates Nickolai Fraiture, Fab Moretti and Albert Hammond, Jr. are no strangers to the side-project.

Phrazes for the Young was produced by big-hitter Jason Lader, who has lent his sheen to Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Coldplay in the past. While Lader’s credits don’t exactly err on the side of New York alt-rock, additional production has come from Bright Eyes aide Mike Mogis.
