Elder statesmen of noise Dinosaur Jr know when to get loud, but the extreme volume on some copies of new album Farm was not their idea. The band has alerted their European fans that sound layers were – œdoubled’ on CDs with the barcode number 5414939004926.

This unfortunate gaffe has resulted in “a 3dB increase in the overall sound volume”. While Dinosaur Jr’s European label Pias is offering an album swap to those with affected copies, we daresay the ear-mincing Farm is set to become a collector’s item.
