Cornell quashes Soundgardenreunion

While he concedes it’s “not impossible”, Timbaland protégé Chris Cornell has said we shouldn’t expect a Soundgarden reunion tour any time soon. Rumours have been circulating that the – œ90s grunge hitmakers were in comeback talks, but that’s news to Cornell. The former frontman told Rolling Stone recently that no such words have been exchanged.
“I’ve always said nothing is impossible,” he said. “I want to be open to anything, but nothing has changed in terms of our attitude toward it. It takes somebody to really stand up and say, – œWe should do this, we have to go do this, let’s go do this,’ and so far, no one has raised their hand to do that. Still, it’s not impossible.”
Instead of going to the bother of touring again, Soundgarden has plans to release a compilation of their lesser-known numbers. “The only thing that we have talked about is trying to put together an album of B-sides and maybe a box set with some unreleased tracks we have,” Cornell concluded. And the crowd goes wild!
