Soundgarden in reunion talks?

One of FL’s 25 Most Wanted Reunions might actually have a chance of happening in the near future. With Faith No More and Jane’s Addiction currently proving nostalgia is a potent selling point, Soundgarden could be looking to revive their – œ90s glory. Emphasis on could.
In an interview with English rock rag Kerrang! at Download Festival, Shinedown singer Brent Smith offered an unexpected soundbite. “There’s talk of a reuniting of Soundgarden in the States soon,” he said. “I know actually someone specific who told me that, who is actually specifically in their organisation. Kinda told me that they’re talking about it.”
Unlike that At The Drive-In flare-up, a Soundgarden reunion/money-grab tour would make sense. Chris Cornell’s most recent solo foray, the Timbaland-tinkered Scream, didn’t quite – œcash the cheque’. Meanwhile, his former bandmates Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron convened for a show in Seattle a while back, in which they revisited old Soundgarden material. Perhaps their estranged frontman is feeling left out?
