Recent visitors to Australia as part of the Big Day Out, System Of A Down, have confirmed that the first of two new albums this year, Mesmerize, will be released in May, with the second disc following sometime in late spring.

The first single will be titled B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bombs) and is expected at radio later this month. Songs previewed during the band’s recent tour, such as Cigaro, Holy Mountain and Kill Rock ‘n’ Roll, are expected to appear.

The two albums are the band’s first new material since 2001’s Toxicity, which has sold six million copies worldwide to date.
