Expert multi-tasker Jack White will be adding another notch to his belt with a mooted solo album in 2009. While details are scarce, this intriguing tit-bit came in an interview with industry paper Music Connection (before being pounced on by various blogs).

After talking to the man about his various musical incarnations, the interviewer adds to the article sidebar: “White hopes to start working on a solo album at the end of 2009.” The news follows the revelation last month that The White Stripes are at work on a new record due for release “maybe next year”. Going from that comment, we’re likely to see the Jack White solo project materialise first. Downtime doesn’t seem to suit this guy.
