Maximo Park guitar swiped

Currently on a sold-out tour of the UK, Maximo Park were given the hometown welcome last week with back-to-back shows in Newcastle. A certain backstage lurker wasn’t in a hospitable mood though, making off with guitarist Duncan Lloyd’s prized 1979 axe.
The – œbrown and gold Gretsch Country Gent’ is not exactly replaceable either, having previously belonged to The Clash legend Joe Strummer. Maximo Park is offering a “significant reward” for the guitar’s return. In the unlikely event that you are the thief or are leading this operation from your Australian lair, email maximopark@warprecords.com to return it to its rightful owners.
