Last Friday night saw Blink-182 make their long-belated return to the stage. Despite the decidedly un-punk setting (a mobile phone launch, really?), the trio put in a rousing performance.

According to Rolling Stone the surprise three-song set at LA’s Paramount Studios featured The Rock Show, Feeling This and Dammit. “This is our very first show after hating each other’s guts for many years,” Mark Hoppus announced with tongue-in-cheek. He later wrote on his blog that “it was one of the best nights of my life”.

Some very shitty video captures of their set are circulating the web, ramping up the hype for the Blink, Weezer and Fall Out Boy triple-header. It was up to Weezer to open the mobile launch, and they did so with gun-for-hire Josh Freese behind the drum-kit. The set included covers of MGMT’s Kids and Lady Gaga’s Poker Face, so Weezer’s still Weezer. Blink-182 make their – œofficial’ return on Tuesday 19 May on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
