After receiving a stern talking-to about hypocrisy from Trent Reznor, Apple has seen the light and approved his app. The update to the Nine Inch Nails iPhone application was rejected on the grounds of objectionable content. The offending bits were from 1994 album The Downward Spiral.
Because apps of far more questionable decency are pretty common, it seems Apple couldn’t defend its position. “The NIN iPhone app is unchanged, the “issues” seem to have been resolved,” the fearless crusader announced on his Twitter. Now, friends, all is right with the world. And given Reznor has this week announced his engagement to West Indian Girl singer Mariqueen Maandig, maybe he’s about to start mellowing out. We sincerely hope not.
