Kaiser Chiefs and Green Dayteam up
Wed 6th May, 2009 in International News
Already jukebox heroes in their home country, Kaiser Chiefs are out to conquer the USA. The rabble-rousing lads will join Green Day on its US arena circuit this July and August.
The mega-tour is fuelled by Green Day’s new record 21st Century Breakdown, coming a good five years after American Idiot. The pre-release chatter on 21st Century Breakdown has been solid, with Rolling Stone USA giving it a glowing 4.5/5 review. “All over the album, Green Day combine punk thrash with their new-found love of classic-rock grandiosity,” gushed staff writer Rob Sheffield.
As for Kaiser Chiefs, they’re keeping at what they do best: playing to vast fields of beered-up festivalgoers. In between the Green Day dates, they’ll take the stage at Lollapalooza, Reading/Leeds, Szczecin Rock and several others.
