In wholly unsurprising news, repeat festival offender Amy Winehouse has cancelled her appearance at Coachella this April. The coveted headline slot was set to be her return to the stage after allegedly going straight. According to a spokesperson, Winehouse will not be making the trip in “light of current legal issues.” The ladyshambles would have trouble securing a US visa, as she was charged with assault last week for allegedly attacking a fan in September.
To soften the blow of her cancellation, Coachella organisers have announced a new batch of less-volatile acts. Devendra Banhart, the Orb, Chemical Brothers, Murder City Devils and Etienne de Crecy are now on board for the desert bash. You can refresh your memory on the rest of the line-up here – and marvel at FL’s sage-like prediction that Winehouse’s booking would not go to plan. How do we do it?
