$1.2 million drug haul atPhish reunion
Wed 11th Mar, 2009 in International News
When reunited jam masters Phish played three shows at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia on the weekend, local police got more than they bargained for. According to MSNBC, around $1.2 million in illegal drugs (mostly of the psychedelic kind, we wager) were confiscated from the crowd, with 194 people arrested. Police are also claiming they seized more than $68,000 in cash.
Most of the arrests were for drug possession, use and distribution. Suburban ravers ain’t got nothing on aging hippies. Perhaps the next time Phish is in town Hampton authorities should follow the lead of Western Australia?
