Even when you’re the Biggest Band In The World, you can’t escape the grind. Following the release of its 12th album No Line On The Horizon, U2 has announced plans for – œU2360’ – a worldwide stadium tour that’s set to stretch well into 2010. Billboard reports the production will include “a 360-degree audience configuration, ambitious staging and a cylindrical video screen.”
The circuit begins in Barcelona on 30 June, before moving steadily through Europe then on to North America until 28 October. According to Billboard, the band then “plans on working the globe until the fall of 2010.” Will Australia be forgotten, a la Depeche Mode, or should we start saving for the sure-to-be-exorbitant ticket price? As you ponder these questions, have a read of Elmo Keep’s sensational review/essay on the “obtuse and weird” No Line On The Horizon.
