Sasquatch! Festival lineupkeeps it indie in '09

As festival season dies down in Australia, it heats up for the North American summer. With lineups for both Coachella and Bonnaroo out of the way, it was time for the Sasquatch! Music Festival lineup to hit the web, and it hit a bit earlier then festival organisers expected. An unsecured testing version of the Sasquatch! website containing the full lineup was left unlocked by promoters, only to be found by over-eager fans a full 24 hours before the lineup was to hit local media!

Taking place over the Memorial Day weekend, the three day lineup has officially been released and looks to be a dream for the indie music fan. Fresh off the news of an original lineup headline tour, festival promoters have booked Jane’s Addiction to headline the main stage Sunday night. Touring partners Nine Inch Nails will join them, in what could possibly be the band’s final festival date.

Kings Of Leon will feature on day one of the festival, with Yeah Yeah Yeahs helping them out, while the final day of action will have Ben Harper and Relentless7 and Twitter-addict Erykah Badu closing the main stage. The festival has piled on the undercard booking plenty of blog buzz acts, not limited to Bon Iver, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, of Montreal, Santigold, Animal Collective, St. Vincent, and Explosions In The Sky to name a few. Sasquatch! takes place at Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington, two hours south-east of Seattle, with views that only rival All Tomorrow’s Parties location Mt. Buller in terms in “picturesque festival sites”. Tickets go on sale this Sunday (AEST) at SasquatchFestival.com with an early bird price of US$155, but those planning a holiday might be more tempted to shell out for VIP at a lazy US$1500 per pair.
