The pulling power of Conan O’ Brien knows no bounds. The loose-limbed funnyman has convinced The White Stripes to appear as musical guests on his last-ever episode of Late Night. The duo has been absent from stages since 2007, after Meg White was diagnosed with acute anxiety. Over the years, The White Stripes have made several appearances on the show. A cardboard Conan even popped up in the video for The Denial Twist, directed by oddball auteur Michel Gondry.
O’Brien is of course giving up the Late Night desk to succeed Jay Leno on The Late Show. Stepping up as Late Night host is Jimmy Fallon, with none other than The Roots as his house band. There’s no word as yet on what song The White Stripes will perform as a send-off, but it’s exciting whatever way you look at it.
The White Stripes and Conan O’ Brien go way back. Check out the video for The Denial Twist.
