Blink-182 back together, kindof

Back in November, Blink-182 “announced they were “re-connecting””:http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/international/15897/Blink-182-reconnect-after-4-years.htm after the band was declared “dead” in 2005. This wasn’t quite what we had in mind, but the guys have been convinced to appear at The Grammys ceremony this Sunday.

However, instead of blasting out Dammit, Blink will be taking the more subdued role as presenters. Boo, hiss. It could be a clash of the – œ90s poster-boys at the presenter’s podium, with Green Day also confirmed to be handing out awards. Add to this mix the news that M.I.A. will be performing on the day she’s due to give birth and we might have a Grammys actually worth watching.

While it may not be the reunion we’ve been waiting for, it’s certainly a start. At this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, all three members of Blink-182 will briefly come out of their indefinite hiatus and share a stage for the first time since 2004 to present either an award or a performance, reports Rolling Stone. There has been no confirmation whether the band will perform or not.

While the pop-punk group may not performing, there’s still plenty of other groups who will be playing including Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, B.B. King, Paul McCartney with the Foo Fighters, and more.

The last time Blink-182 shared a stage was in December of 2004, just a few months before they announced they were taking a break. Since then, guitarist Tom Delonge started Angels
