Orbital reveals further livedates
Tue 3rd Feb, 2009 in International News
Boasting one of the most fervent fan bases of any live electronic act worldwide, rave legends Orbital caused quite a stir in November, 2008, when they announced they would be reforming for a headline spot at The Big Chill festival in the UK this year. “It’s not an exercise in nostalgia, the time just seems right. Everything just seemed to fall into place,” Phil Hartnoll of the duo said at the time.
They’ve now also confirmed a further string of festival dates and solo shows for the European continent throughout the northern summer, which is sure to have fans beyond the UK breathless with excitement. New shows in include Rockness in Scotland, Sonar in Barcelona, Global Gathering in England, and solo shows in Manchester and London.
There’s still no word of an Australian tour, however. Considering they’ve still never actually brought the live show down under, perhaps a 15 year anniversary tour is on the cards? In the meantime, you can relive the memories with this clip of them dropping their remake of the Doctor Who theme at Glastonbury 2004:
