Following on from her perhaps unnecessary Tom Waits-channelling album, Scarlett Johansson has had a go at covering Jeff Buckley. If Buckley fans are anywhere near as incensed about this as they were about an X-Factor winner doing Hallelujah, you can expect an online petition pretty soon.
Said cover of The Last Goodbye is set to appear on the soundtrack to He’s Just Not That Into You. It’s like the Transformers of chick flicks: based on a self-help book and starring Johansson, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck…we need to sit down. Anyway, someone thought a Buckley piano ballad would be just what this estrogen epic needed, so see what you think of it over at Stereogum.
