Bowie makes twitter cool
Fri 23rd Jan, 2009 in International News
It seems that twittering is officially cool.
According to online indie bible Pitchfork.com, Sonic Youth have recently registered a twitter account and taken to posting updates about their forthcoming album, The Eternal. The tweets so far have proved to be fairly unspectacular, nonetheless, Im sure that fan-boys and girls the world over will be watching the band’s every micro-move from now on.
Just to cement the coolness of the social networking phenomenon, a user by the name ‘David Bowie’ started twittering last week with his most recent twitter stating, “Cheers from a snowy Berlin! Working on some new material”. There has been no official word from the Bowie camp as to whether the twitter did in fact come from the Goblin King himself, but it has set rumours in to overdrive that he is finally recording a new album. We haven’t heard from Bowie since 2003’s album Reality, after which a heart complaint forced him into semi-retirement.
Only time will tell if this is just an elaborate hoax by Labyrinth loving twitter nerds.
