The collection is overseen by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, with all proceeds going towards fighting HIV/AIDS. Its release is set for 17 February worldwide through 4AD, and can be purchased as a triple-vinyl (an enticing option given the guest-list).

As you can see below, Dark Was The Night will be a sweet serenade for anyone who grimaced through Do They Know It’s Christmas? Yeasayer, Feist, Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, Iron & Wine – it’s like the best-ever Laneway Festival line-up in CD form. And all for a good cause too.
