Sonic Youth ready new album

In a recent interview for Uncut, Thurston Moore has revealed that he is working on a number of different song ideas that will make up Sonic Youth’s sixteenth album, to be released sometime in 2009.
He claims that the album, titled The Eternal , will be “…a record replete with juicy supersonic songs”. We would expect no less from the band that has bought us some of the most beautiful noise from the last twenty years. Gush.
The album will be released through Matador Records (home to such eclectic artists as Fuck Buttons and Cat Power) with whom the band signed in September last year after ending their sixteen year relationships with Geffen.
If you are lucky enough to be in Europe you can catch the band at a number of shows in Spain, Austria and Germany.
