After announcing in an interview with fashion magazine Elle that her new album would be released online on January 1st, Courtney Love has postponed the release once again, to the great disappointment of her four remaining fans.
The album, titled Nobody’s Daughter, will be the first solo effort from Love since 2004’s America’s Sweetheart and her first released sans a major label.
Her – œMyspace Administrator’ posted an explanation for the albums delay to quell the discontent of fans that were banking on a January 1st release. Notably, neither crack nor languishing song-writing abilities were included in their reasoning. “Courtney Love is a true artist, and as most true artists, the true artist simply communicates from within. That special place that Courtney holds so deep, especially for her fans is a really honest haven that exhibits skill, versatility, self-discipline, formal and conceptual rigor, and a commitment to excellence. A commitment to giving you guys the best she HAS and WILL give you.”
2008 was a rough year for Love who faced lawsuits, sobriety and a great deal of attention for her post-rehab behaviour. Here’s hoping 2009 brings out the – œskill, versatility and self-discipline’ we know she harbours deep inside. We still Love you Courtney – even if the paparazzi prefer Wino now.
