When Radiohead descends on Mexico City and South America in 2009, its shows will be getting off to a consummate start. The band has recruited German electronica titans Kraftwerk as “very special tour guests”. The remarkable double-bill will weave from Mexico City to San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium in Santiago throughout March.
Radiohead has made no secret of its reverence for Kraftwerk’s brand of machine music, so they may well be watching keenly from side of stage. Going on the strength of Düsseldorf quartet’s Global Gathering performances last month, the headliners will have a hard act to follow.
Planning a South American adventure? You might want to time the trip around these dates in March.
