Finding it hard to afford tickets to all the biggest festivals this summer? With a number of the biggest players locally – Nevereverland and The Hot BBQ, for instance – having had a tough time in recent weeks, perhaps we’ll see Australian promoters taking a leaf out of US festivals Bonnaroo and Langerado’s book.

With American now very much in the grips of an economic crisis it’s only natural people are being a bit more frugal with their spending money. But both Bonnaroo and Langerado have instigated a somewhat novel approach for keen music fans who don’t have the money up front – a payment plan!

Taking place in Miami, Florida, in 2009 Langerado will feature Death Cab For Cutie, Snoop Dogg and many more, and they’ve given purchasers the option of paying in three monthly installments. While respected Nashville, Tenessee, festival Bonnaroo have specially priced pre-sale tickets available before December 31st for five monthly payments of $50.

Would you buy a festival ticket on lay buy? It sure beats maxing out your credit card!
