After years of red herrings, ‘90s indie heroes Blur have told NME they really are reuniting. Speaking with the magazine for its cover feature this month, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon announced the band will play a show in London’s Hyde Park on Friday 3 July. It’ll be the original foursome too – Albarn, Coxon (who departed Blur in 2002), Alex James and Dave Rowntree. “It just felt it was right again,” Albarn said. “It somehow feels like there’s something for us to do again, we’re not completely useless or pointless, we’ve got a reason to exist.”

Tantalisingly, the frontman added, “We’ll do something in London because that seems sensible, but we’re also playing in other parts of the country working up to there.” Seems like it’s actually happening this time, people. Whether Blur will visit our faraway land, though, is anyone’s guess.
