NIN 2009 shows will be lastfor a while

Now there’s even more reason to savour Nine Inch Nails’ visit to our shores for Soundwave 2009. In a self-proclaimed “Kanye West moment” on his blog, Trent Reznor has declared the band’s – œLights In The Sky’ North American tour “FOR SURE the best show of the year and any bullshit end-of-the-year poll you may read in the next few weeks that says otherwise simply has it wrong.”

However there’s a flipside to that enthusiasm. Later, Reznor adds, “The shows we have announced in 2009 and any more that may be announced will be a completely different approach with some different personnel and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future.” We know already that the “different personnel” includes a new drummer – 20-year-old Ilan Rubin. What he means by “a completely different approach”, though, is anyone’s guess. Better get a good spot for Nine Inch Nail’s two-hour concert sets at Soundwave, – œcause it might be our last chance for a while…
