Heartbroken though he may be, ‘voice of his generation’ Kanye West has muscled in to the #1 spot on the Billboard charts. This leaves Axl Rose and his Chinese Democracy sitting at the less-stellar-than-expected #3.

The Guns N’ Roses record was anticipated to debut in the top position, but moved only 261,200 copies in its first week of sales. Based on these early figures (and despite some solid reviews), Chinese Democracy has now been classed as a major under-performer. Its inability to swell mass interest has been put down to various factors, including the band’s exclusive deal with Best Buy, online leaks and Rose’s refusal to grant interviews. Not to mention that 17-year wait fans were made to endure.

All that aside, you can bet your red bandanna that a Gunners mega-tour is in the works to balance the bills. Some completely unsubstantiated sources (thank you Pop Bitch!) are even reporting there are whispers of a true Guns N’ Roses reunion tour.
