So, what does one of the world’s most bankable rock bands do between shows? Appear on reality TV, apparently. Dave Grohl and co. will debut as guest judges in a special edition of Top Chef, set to air in the US on 26 November. The episode, titled Foo Fighters’ Thanksgiving, sees the remaining contestants trying to impress the Foos with a mid-tour meal.

It turns out Grohl is something of a gourmand, always eager to share cooking tips with unsuspecting interviewers. On the New York magazine blog, Top Chef’s top dog Tom Colicchio remarked, “The funny thing with Dave was that right before we go out to do our entrance, he’s like, ‘I’m so excited. This is my favorite TV show. I can’t wait!’ [The band is] really into food.”
