A very Kooks-y horror

Gabby upstart and Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard has told tabloid-of-ill-repute The Sun that he is set to move into movies. “I’ve been doing a lot of music for films recently but which has been a nice change but now I’m keen to explore the acting side of things,” he told the paper. “I’m currently talking to a female American director about a possible movie.”
Will it be an artsy talk-fest, a la Coffee and Cigarettes? Perhaps a kung-fu flick in which he fights arch-nemesis Alex Turner? Sadly no. “It’s a scary horror B type film,” Pritchard elaborated. “It’s going to be really cheesy but fucked up with a bit of Paris Texas thrown in. It sounds great. I think it will be fun to try out something a bit different.”
For the time being, though, he’s sticking to his day-job – which includes a return visit to our shores for Falls Festival this New Years Eve. Oh, and bedding groupies. Reflecting on the Kooks’ US tour, he told The Sun, “The girls are very cute and you could say I’m taking advantage. You can’t control the urges.” Mr Pritchard, some day someone will use that excuse after slapping you.
