First taste of ChineseDemocracy

With the comically-overdue Chinese Democracy finally set to land on 23 November, Guns N’ Roses have now unveiled the first single. Available to listen to on the band’s website (go on, the Feds won’t bust down your door), the album’s title track is a suitably arena-sized Gunners fist-pumper.

“The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock n’ roll,” enthuse Guns – œN Roses co-managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould in a statement. And who ever thought that historic moment was actually going to happen? On evidence of this first single, Chinese Democracy is going to be a big seller. Big enough to reconcile Axl Rose’s debts, though, is another question altogetherÃ¢â‚¬Â¦

Im not sure about those chattering Chinese voices at the beginning. And can anyone else smell a touch of nu-metal in that mix? Im sure Triple M will eat it up...

Hate to say it... sounds like it's gunna be a good album! Agree though... radio won't like the long intro. Will sound good on the album though.

you can practically feel the overproduction

especially on the opening riff

never really hit a strong melody, and axl's vocals are horribly buried in the mix

I think it's about time, The annoying thing is that it's not the best track that's on the Album & I've had at least half the Album for a couple of years now.

The opening sounded promising then it just went to the dogs when Axl's vocals kicked in. In my opinion the album will sell ok in the first few weeks due to the curiousity factor but in the end it will still stink.

Now if giving away a can of Dr Pepper with every purchase of the Album is not some act of Marketing Genius by a bunch of waivering out dated record label big nobs from the states..... I mean honestly..... the whole thing has made my week.....

soda pop rock anyone? This was the same idea they had for the Album in 1993.... it just took a while for it to come out

i can deal with the new GNR easily... i just ignore the name Guns N' Roses and pretend i'm going to see "The Axl Rose Experience" (haha good one).

I think the new songs like Better and I.R.S and The Blues are all awesome, just cos i'm thinking of it as Axl Rose, not as GNR. I stopped comparing Appetite-era stuff to Chinese Democracy ages ago, cos put simply they just arent the same band.
