Covers compilations are notoriously hit-and-miss, but BBC Radio 1’s two-disc Live Lounge Volume 3 collection has piqued our interest. It brings together 40 live and unplugged performances, the majority of which are cover versions. So far, so predictable – but who couldn’t be at least a little intrigued by Pendulum doing Coldplay’s Violet Hill or Foo Fighters ripping into Arcade Fire?

The collection is out late October through Sony BMG, so keep your eyes peeled for a review on this very site. In the meantime, have a read of this tracklist and try to pick the accidents waiting to happen…
