Australia-bound indie heroes Bloc Party have whipped up a shit-storm after they made no secret of miming a performance at Brazil’s equivalent of the MTV Awards (the VMBs). Indeed, they positively revelled in faking it.
– œPerforming’ Talons and Banquet, frontman Kele Okereke let the backing track play, only occasionally feigning singing. His bandmates followed suit, paying their instruments scant attention and having a grand old romp instead.

It’s all rather amusing to watch – although the audience in the auditorium thought otherwise and booed the band throughout. Whether the guys are boozed, bored or unhappy at being asked to mime (conjecture only), it’s unlikely this is the Bloc Party we’ll be seeing in November.
