The bullshit-o-meter is squarely in the red on this one: Berlin-based artist Natascha Stellmach is claiming she will roll the ashes of Kurt Cobain into a spliff and smoke it for an exhibition.

Following the theft of Cobain’s ashes from Courtney Love, Stellmach has allegedly “acquired” them. The ‘Set Me Free’ exhibition will be at Berlin’s Wagner + Partner gallery, with an over-arching theme of death. According to Stellmach, the ‘performance’ of smoking the former Nirvana frontman will “set him free” from media scrutiny. When asked how she came upon Cobain’s ashes by the journal Artworld, the artist replied, “That’s confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free.”

Danish artist/crazy Marco Evarissti has his own plans for the exhibition, too. He will apparently feed death row inmate Gene Hathorn to goldfish as an installation piece. Which begs the question: how much are flights to Berlin?
