It’s unlikely US rapper The Game has Al Gore on speed-dial, but the former Presidential hopeful sure knows how he’s feeling. A recount of album sales figures in the US this week by Nielsen SoundScan has uprooted The Game from his assumed #1 chart position and announced Slipknot as top dog.

The initial figures had Slipknot’s All Hope Is Gone trailing The Game’s LAX by a mere 13 units. Cue the popping of champagne corks from the West Coast MC’s camp. Unfortunately, the revised figures found the masked metallers had sold 239,516 copies to The Game’s 238,382. Ouchy. All Hope Is Gone has been Slipknot’s biggest sales success – having also rocketed to #1 in Australia ahead of their much-anticipated tour.
