After a shaky appearance at the V Festival in the UK, disaster-magnet Amy Winehouse cancelled her headline appearance at Paris festival Rock En Seine over the weekend. To add insult to injury, her cancellation came only two hours before she was set to appear on stage.
Understandably, the festival organisers are rather miffed (but surely not surprised?), with some reports suggesting they’re threatening legal action against the singer. Rock En Seine was given “no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence”, and there’s been no statement from Winehouse.
Not to worry though – revellers at the three-day bash were appeased by performances from The Roots, The Raconteurs, R.E.M., Kaiser Chiefs, Hot Chip and other ‘reliable’ types.
