Guns N’ Roses leaker arrested by FBI

Kevin ‘Skwerl’ Coghill, the Antiquiet blogger responsible for leaking unfinished tracks from that elusive Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy, has been taken in by the feds. Associated Press reports the police initially questioned Coghill a few days after he had leaked (and subsequently taken down) the tracks back in June. A couple of months passed before he was sprung with a visit from the FBI yesterday morning and arrested. The moral of this story: Axl Rose doesn’t forget in a hurry.

Antiquiet has posted a message about Coghill’s arrest on its messageboard. “Skwerl got himself hauled in by the FBI today over this whole GNR/Chinese Democracy leak fiasco, which seems to mean that people take this whole copyright thing pretty seriously,” it reads. “We weren’t going to make a big spectacle of this, since it’s obviously a pretty serious situation, but the plankton hacks over at the Los Angeles Times managed to pick up on the story and run it a highly suspicious impressive two hours after the incident went down.
