After much smoke, mirrors and Amy Winehouse rumours, it has been revealed that Jack White and Alicia Keys will provide the theme song for the new James Bond installment Quantum of Solace.
The superstar pair will duet on Another Way To Die, written and produced by White. It’s to be the first theme song collaboration in Bond’s lengthy history, with the White Stripes man on the drum-kit and the soulstress lending her pipes. In a chat with Rolling Stone in May, Keys hinted at the team-up ahead. “I think that combining [the White Stripes’] style with mine, which already has a raw feel to it, and my voice, I just think we could do something really interesting that mixes rock and soul together, the blues and emotion, and it could be really touching,” she mused.
After Chris Cornell’s effort on Casino Royale left most cold, we’re quietly confident Jack White will conjure up a winner. The Quantum of Solace is released in Australia on 27 November 2008.
