AC/DC plot world tour

Giving credence to the rampant rumours, AC/DC’s management has finally confirmed the veteran rockers are embarking on an 18-month world tour starting in October. The expedition will be in support of the band’s eight-years-in-the-making new album, which is still yet to see the light of day. We can only guess where Australia fits in on AC/DC’s mammoth trek. Time to resurrect those – œAcca Dacca for BDO’ rumours. Can you imagine the human pyramids!

Rolling Stone reports the announcement was made at a touring panel, in which other world tours were unveiled. Among them are Green Day, Depeche Mode, Weezer, The Killers and (yessssss!) Miley Cyrus.

Finally, a world tour! I guess it'll be 3 nights at the Acer. Their previous effort was 6 nights at the Ent Cent (I think).

Dont reckon they'll play BDO, they dont quite fit. Festivals should never have a huge headliner, it detracts from the other acts.

getting to see a mad bunch of bands throughout the day?
i don't think i've ever bought my big day out ticket based on the headlining act.

I'm going to Homebake almost purely for Crowded House.

Soundwave's headliners were my main reason to go, and Battles was my reason to go to BDO.

Ahh, but RATM were a big fucking drawcard as well.

I'm saying, majority of the time, people are there to see the band at the top of the bill.

I almost never buy a festival ticket to see the headliner.
I can't be bothered fighting my way through the pit to have a good spot for the headliner so I mostly go for the "mid-card" stuff.

Likewise. My favourite festival time is always before sundown, hence prior to headliner.

Try selling 50,000+ Big Day Out tickets without a major drawcard headliner. Impossible.

ummm you'd be suprised what percentage of those tickets would still get sold without a "major drawcard headliner" buddy. i have been to at least 4 big day outs with 2 different groups of mates, and bar RATM, there has never been anyone in those groups who have bought a ticket based on the main act.
and i still haven't..
reasons why i have bought BDO tickets:

-The Mars Volta (last slot, but a small stage)
-The Music
-Slipknot
-UNKLE
-Soulwax
-Spank Rock

bands that have not affected my ticket purchase:

-RATM
-Chemical Brothers (although they were fucking amazing)
-Tool
-Muse
