Karen O's fly-by show

100 sure-to-be-smug punters in Brooklyn witnessed the first (and very possibly last) solo performance from Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O this week. Performing as her ‘other’ incarnation Native Korean Rock, the feline firecracker enraptured the audience with two compact sets.

According to the Guardian, “Karen O sang from the bow of a mock ship, the sail festooned with a Korean flag, sound clips of seagulls and waves playing in the background.” That sounds about right. Don’t get your hopes up, though – this was a one-night-only offer. “I don’t think there will be any more shows like this,” she told NME frankly.

The divine Ms O has also confirmed the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs record “should be out by early next year.”
