Movie nerd pin-up Wes Anderson has been described as “cinema’s hippest DJ”, littering his movies with the likes of Nico, The Who and The Faces. Now he’s found a new musical muse in the form of Jarvis Cocker. The former Pulp frontman has reportedly written some ditties for Anderson’s upcoming take on Roald Dahl’s much-adored children’s story The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Cocker let slip to Time Out Chicago that he’s written “three, four songs, and some of that might become bits of the score”. As elusive as the man’s comments are, this prodigious union is enough to get indie types (or is that just White People?) into quite a lather.
Anderson’s animated adaptation of The Fantastic Mr. Fox will boast a stellar voice cast including George Clooney, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray and Anjelica Huston.
