Police called to BrianJonestown show
Fri 18th Jul, 2008 in International News
Despite telling FL his new band members are his “best friends”, Anton Newcombe is still keeping The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s volatile spirit alive.
After performing in London on Wednesday, Newcombe and his guitarist Frankie Emerson got into a dust-up, resulting in a call to the boys in blue. The scuffle was apparently sparked by Emerson drunkenly swinging a microphone around onstage and breaking it. Newcombe told him he’d have to pay for a replacement, and things then got predictably heated backstage. Down at the station, the Anton Alarm sounded and a few lucky bobbies got to diffuse the situation. Conclusion: there’s no mellowing out in Brian Jonestown camp. Hurrah.
