It seems dance music really is bad for your health. 30 punters were recently injured by a laser show at the Aquamarine Music Festival in Russia on July 5, some losing up to 80% of their vision!

It’s reported that 20 festival goers are still in hospital receiving treatment, with the RIA-Novosti news agency quoting Elena Grishina – head doctor at the Moscow Ophthalmological Hospital – as saying; “The treatment is not very pleasant. It involves a lot of needles. But all the patients are in optimistic spirits, and we are hoping for a good result.”

The alarming is said to have occurred after the main dancefloor at the event was covered due to poor weather conditions. This meant that lasers were positioned horizontally rather than into the air. “After five or 10 minutes on the dance field, I couldn’t see anything,” The Age reported a young man as saying. “I could see out of my left eye, but my right eye is all fog.”
