Tonight, at the Camden Monarch in London’s infamous booze-and-bad-markets suburb, Amy Winehouse is launching her own club night. She’ll even be DJing. For one night only, paparazzi and punters will dance together.
The party, named Snakehips At The Monarch, sees Winehouse buddy up with local identity DJ Bioux to spin some records. According to NME, the singer will “play a selection of songs that have influenced her own musical output so far.”
It’s certainly an interesting time for the tabloid play-thing to be launching a club night. Following her borderline bizarre Glastonbury appearance, the Daily Mirror reported she punched a man three times at the Dublin Castle pub in (good guess) Camden. Apparently Winehouse reacted to a pinch on her bum, although the ‘salesman’ who copped the fist claims, “I hadn’t said a word or touched her.” With all that in mind…let’s have a big boozy party in a Camden pub, shall we! Tickets on the door Guv’ner.
